Question:
My question is I have a lump on my lower right bottom gum area between my eye tooth and one beside it. Had no tooth problems. Went to dentist, gave me some med rinse and a z pack.

The lump filled with pus, burst today, comes back in a few hours filled with pus again but smaller. Throbs all the time. What should I do? Does the antibiotic bring the poision up to the top to get rid of it?. Tracy in TN

Answer:
Tracy, your abscess should be treated with root canal or extraction of the offending tooth. Antibiotics will only make things worse, without proper treatment. Get back to the office and have something done right away.
