Question:
One month after my bridge was put in, I could see a large gap between the tooth and my gum.
I understand that gums shrink. But, I have seen other bridges and you can't even tell that they are not their own teeth. Mine look aweful.
I returned to the dentist when I first noticed it, and he said that it was normal. Now I am at the opposite end of the country. I don't feel that he did he good job.
Also, at the time that he put the bridge on, it did not fit correcly so he shaved my lower teeth to make it fit. I do worry about all of the food that gets in there, along with the cosmetic look. ... Visitor from CA
Answer:
I am sorry for your problems with the bridge. It sounds like it could have been done a lot better, but it may be too late to have the original dentist fix this.
All dental work should be tried in to have the patient see and approve it before it is cemented.
Because you accepted the bridge and are now far from the original dentist, your options are limited. Also, it sounds like some time has passed, so gum tissue and bite may have also changed.
It sounds like you will need to have the bridge replaced when you can.
