Bulimia Dentistry Ask The Dentist Mitchell Pohl

Question:
How to minimize Bulimia damage? I've been dealing with bulimia on and off for about 5 years (I am 22 years old).

For the last 6 months it's got much worse and I've been purging at least once a day. I am trying to stop but am pretty sure it's going to carry on for a while longer.

Is there anything I can to minimize the damage to my teeth? Something straight after being sick, or as part of a daily routine? ...Visitor from London UK

Answer:
First, you should be getting help for this problem.

Secondly, acid from the regurgitation is eroding the teeth, so rinsing with water will help wash away the acid. You can also try using MI Paste Plus to help remineralize the enamel. However, this is not a substitute.
