FAQ:  Chipped Teeth

Question:
My 2 front teeth are chipped on the bite. Would white fillings be better than crown?

I don't really want to go to drastic if possible. ...Visitor from UK

Answer:
Whether or not common bonding products can successfully repair your teeth can only be determined by a visit with the dentist.

If you have an unusual occlusal event, a bonding repair could fail almost immediately. Bonding, when done correctly, can endure for many years.... but a bad bite can destroy it in no time at all.

Using a crown doesn't necessarily mean it would be the best treatment. A bad bite can cause a crown to fail too.
