Question:
I need an upper denture made but the problem is I have some broken pieces of teeth still in my gums which have been there for years and now one tooth. I do not want to go through surgery to get those pieces out.
I want a denture made just to make me look like I have teeth up top because I work at a college and have to communicate with lots of students and staff. I have a fear of dentists you would not believe. Can something like this be made for me?
Answer:
You need to get some x-rays taken to make sure that the roots have no
infections or cysts. If they have no pathology it may actually be safer to
leave them in for the time being...just get x-rays once a year to check for
problems.
You have to consult with your dentist and/or oral surgeon. Leaving the teeth in actually can keep your jaw bones healthier and prevents loss of bone as you age.
