Question:
Mini implants for insufficient bone? I just had a very discouraging consult with a local oral surgeon who told me I am not a candidate for dental implants due to not having sufficient jawbone for the implant.
He didn't discuss mini-implants. Could I still be a candidate for those?
The implants he discussed would take months to heal before using, while the minis take a day? How do they differ and would this be a possibility for me? ...Visitor from VA

What are you planning with the implants? All fixed dentition or implant supported dentures, upper or lower jaw?
Mini implants are great for temporary support while permanent implants are healing, but I do not recommend them for permanent.
When there is not enough bone for upper implants, a different kind of implant, a subperiosteal implant can be used for dentures or fixed work.
