Question:
How quickly can you get Mini Implants: I have had my dentures 4 months. I would like to have 4 mini implants for my lowers.
How long do you have to wait to get mini implants? Some dentists say I can get them now - some say 1 year. Is there a correct answer? ...Visitor from FL
Answer:
Assuming that a patient has a healthy mandible or lower jaw with sufficient bone quantity and density, mini implants can be placed in one appointment if the dentist has access to all of the advanced technologies.
If the lower jawbone needs to be fortified with bone grafts (there are many different types), the overall treatment could require several months.
Some dentists, by virtue of their access to "mini implant alternatives" can place implant devices (for retaining dentures) despite having bone loss.
Zest locators, attached to standard implants, can provide excellent retention with as few as 2 implants and a custom denture.
