A live example of codiagnostic treatment planning with a patient who is seeking one or more dental implants as part of a reconstruction of the right lower jaw. The patient quickly learns how to read the different types of scanned images and see areas needing significant treatment and preparation. The observation of an active disease process within the jawbone leads to the immediate decision to begin bone graft procedures.

Discovery of infected root tips left behind by an oral surgeon during a routine extraction highlights an additional need to get rid of the bad tissue. Implant sites for future tooth replacement and the dangerous proximity of the facial nerve is observed and developed into the treatment plan which will incorporate the use of special implants that are designed to avoid the nerve.
